Spring Development Update

Hi! It's been a few months, hasn't it. Here's what's been happening.

The Final Final Stages

I have exactly one chapter left on the final draft of Songs! All that's left is to finish up the chapter on tweaking and hacking the game to your own needs. Once that's done, I'm going to give it a week to rest before starting editing passes and moving to a publishing stage. Like I mentioned last time, I don't have much I can show off, but here's a brief look at what I have been working on:

(Please keep in mind that this is somewhat artificial; I built it to show you all the highlights, and there's more that's not easy to summarize.)

I should also mention...

I Moved and That Gets In the Way of Game Design Really Quite a Lot

Who knew! I haven't really gotten to crack the game open for a month between dealing with furnishings, a new job, and the like. Still, with only one chapter left, I'm confident I'll be able to finish the draft and move to crowdfunding soon. Those of you who recall the last devlog or saw Songs' feature on Polygon might've seen me gesture at a possible crowdfunding campaign in spring, but the more realistic expectation is that any such effort would take place in mid-to-late summer. As before, please take time estimates with a grain of salt, as while I may be closer to the goal than ever, I'm still a one-woman show! Now that I'm starting to settle in, I've been cracking the book back open to finish off that final chapter.

That's all for now!

Our Songs campaign ends on monday, and the system has carried us through one of the greatest stories any of us have ever told together. Thank you for this amazing game - excited to see it cross the finish line!
